POUL WILLIAM
ANDERSON
(U.S.A., 11/25/1926- )
Poul Anderson was born on November 25, 1926 and he currently lives in Orlinda,
California. He has published a great number of works throughout his career,
which started in the early '50's with short stories that appeared in some Sci-Fi
magazines. He has continued to publish works up until his latest works which
were originally printed in 1994, but his popularity has given him several additional
printings of his works.
- Throughout his career, Poul Anderson has won several awards for writing
including eight Hugo awards, three Nebula awards, and one Gandalf Grand Master
award. He is considered by most people, who have read his works, to be among
the better writers in science fiction, in league with authors like Alfred
Bester and Ursula LeGuin. Anderson wrote novels and short stories in Fiction,
Science Fiction and Fantasy. Anderson also spends significant time writing
humor in each of the fields mentioned above. Based on the number of awards,
and the high number of reprints, it is easy to see that he has been quite
successful in all of these fields. His daughter is married to Greg Bear.
