Cover artist: Walter Velez Long known for his cover art for such popular series as Thieves World, the “Myth” series for Robert Asprin and for Craig Shaw Gardner Velez has recently turned his multi-faceted talents to Goosebumps and Dune collectible trading cards, and TSR games and bookcovers Velez consistently turns out colorful, well-composed and wonderfully lighthearted interpretations of the books he’s been commissioned to illustrate. His ‘visual signature’ is almost always instantaneously identifiable; while the characters are broadly and often wittily interpreted, his style of expression is anything but casual. Often painting on canvas, Velez’s paintings always seem well thought out, and rendered with a sure hand. It’s only recently that he has consented to selling some of his original art, which is why we’ re so delighted to now be able to offer a sampling of his works in our catalogs.
