Excellent debut album from one of those divisive bands that fit perfectly into the loath 'em or love 'em category. Considering Effigy's success it seems that most listeners fall into the latter which is understandable because of their direct, hook central pop which fortunately doesn't wane throughout this thirty nine minute release. Sure the singles 'Lovers' and 'Small' are good but for my money the dark, almost country like strum of 'I Remember Nothing' highlights this recommended debut. Mike Kratochvil |
