Online Magazine (Mar 99)
Pete Hardman is returning to Perth to form a new band. Will he keep using
the name Effigy?
Morsal
from Perth's Bubblehead
Online Magazine (Jan 99)
If
you have been wondering about Pete Hardman since the termination of Effigy,
then you can see him perform on January 29 at the Fly By Night for the
CD launch of Hifalutin.
Is
it the end?
Shock!
Horror! Split rumour...
Well, unfortunately its true - Effigy are no more.

"Michelle Wilcox"

Hi Michelle,
I can confirm that Effigy are no more - there will be a press
release about the situation coming from the RR office very soon.
Kind regards,

Interview
with an artist
Ever
wondered who does all the wonder art for album and CD covers. Effigy's
"Caught" CD single has a very catchy piece of artwork and I've had the
chance to ask its creator all about it. Check out my interview
with bradfield and find out how one gets to see their artwork in
the music shops.
Recovery
I've know put up the transcript of Effigy's
appearance on Recovery,
way back on the 11th of July. There are video grabs available too. Information
on the band is a bit thin of the ground at the moment, so until they release
another single or tour again, this page isn't going to change much. I
plan to add the B-sides soon, since there has been a request.
New Pics
Check out the great photos in the pictures
section from Melisa Bartalone of Bubblehead,
a Perth on-line music fanzine.
Latest Transcripts
Two
new interview transcripts are now available. The first is from the OzMusic
show ages ago, with Effigy chatting to Triple J's Francis Leach. And
guess what! I've forked out for a video capture card and the next transcript
comes with pictures. Its from TV's Channel Ten show - Ground
Zero. Ugly Phil and a very dodgy dumby present this interview. There
are also pics of Effigy playing 'Suspicion Bells' live.
Some Reviews
I'm
too lazy to retype these so click on a pic for the review.
Next
single
Effigy have now released their second single from the album, "Century
Collapsing". Its "Caught" and Triple J have been playing
it. Love the hand claps...
The New Album
I've
finally got around to doing up the pages for the new album "Century
Collapsing". Why "Century Collapsing"? Pete says "Well,
its this end of the century, Year 2000 thing..." When I get around
to typing up the Recovery Interview, you can read more. Click on the pic
to get a larger version, then try to peer through all the stickers...good
grief!
Quick Concert View
I couldn't make it to Effigy's recent concerts around Brisbane, but a
workmate of mine happened to be at the Waterloo Hotel the night they played
there with the Mavis's. Here's a short review from Phil:
- They
rocked!
- Gee,
he's got a high voice...
- Is
the bassist strange or does she just pretend to be?
In the meanwhile, if you have anything of interest on the band you'd like
to add to this website, especially photos from Effigy's gigs, all are welcome.
