PART 3: I FOUND HELL...ON THE SUNSHINE COAST

[ Music - 'I Found Hell' ]

Francis: So, did you get nervous, Pete, about making all those prank phone calls? Or did you...you just said you made an awful lot before you found that one.

Pete: Me and Jason made ‘em, and it was just frustrating. And er...no, not really. I was never sure how to recite these lyrics as well. We would try - Jason would try a phyco voice or something...the most important thing was to make sure people listened to the...all four lines, and then gave a response. Most people just hung up after the first one.

Francis: Is that what happened to the first two hundred?

Pete: I was assuming that Americans would be very gregarious and just start yelling at me and say wonderful things about...I don't know...about Big macs, and where I could stick ‘em and stuff, but no - its really boring.

Francis: Well, they do like conversations, but I don't think they'd just start talking to someone they don't know.

Pete: No, I suppose not.

Francis: That's what you were hoping for, anyway. Right. Pete and Annie from Effigy are with me here tonight on the Oz Music Show. That was another track from their self-titled debut, and that one was called 'I Found Hell'. And we should quickly plug the dated that they've got lined up. How was Queensland and that sort of stuff. That was last weekend, wasn't it?

Annie: Yeah...

Pete: Yeah, it was...

Francis: (laughs) Oh, okay! Let's just move right along to tomorrow night. You're playing at the University of New South Wales with Swirl. You're got a show on in Sydney as well on Friday - that's in Alexandra - playing at the Iron Duke Hotel. And then you're playing in Annandale at the Annandale Hotel on Saturday. Teaming up there Swirl and Bill. So, have fun. After that - back to Melbourne?

Annie: Yep.

Pete: Yeah.

Francis: All right. Thanks for coming in.
